I have been known to sample the odd can of Nigerian Lager, purely for medicinal reasons of course. ;D ;D

The problem with Guiness is that it slips down too easy and a couple is never enough :y

Yes, but normally only if a pub has no real ales. Keg beers really bloat me, but Guiness doesn't.

Never used to touch stuff, had one after about 5 pints of stella, did not sit well  ::)

However MrsT is Irish, so well, I was "informed" I had to drink Guinness ;D ;D

So started drinking it, really like it now. When in the pub I usually opt for that over Larger, nothing has beaten the taste of Guinness from Dublin Factory though. Had one in their bar, lovely stuff.

I find though it is easy to get it wrong, larger is the same, but you can get a bad pint of Guinness if its poured wrong or miss-treated in transit.

This one was poured just at the factory  :D

What can the publican "get wrong" about lager? It isn't a live product like beer.

Think you miss-understood, i should have made it more clear, I meant larger is the same, as in you cannot get it wrong. But Guinness you can  :y

I don't know if it ever travels "darn sarf", but if you ever get a chance to experience "Theakston Old Peculier" - try it.

I find it a very similar taste to guinness, but slightly more palatable, and it doesn't sit as heavily on the stomach.
Be warned tho - it has twice the effect of Guinness. If you try to drink 10 pints of it, you will know about it! (or not, as was the case with me - until the next afternoon - I still don't know how I got home. I fell asleep in Leeds, woke up in a pub in Wakefield  ::) )

.. apart from selling it to you in the first place instead of giving you a slap and telling you not to be so stupid? ;D

The demon drink has much to answer for.

Repent I say, and take up reading the good book instead, while there is still hope. :)
