Button key problems
« on: 18 August 2009, 17:46:29 »

The key fob has 3 buttons on it, the only one that does anyting at the moment is the one for the boot release, this works fine every time but the other 2 buttons don't do anything at all. I can't unlock or lock the doors using the remote buttons only by using the key in the conventional way. It's been like this since i bought the car and is getting a bit annoying now.

Any ideas how to fix the problem ?

Yes, it sounds as though the micro switches for two of the buttons are u/s which is a common problem :'(

PM Martin Imber who is the Forum's expert in repairing these for a small price.  His work is excellent! 8-) 8-) :y :y :y

I think it's more likely to be the key itself, the boot release button lights up OK but when i press either the lock or unlock button the light doesn't light up
