No doubt we could sort out their fishing fleet but, if Spain decided to ban us from their national waters, and we went in anyway, they would have international law on their side. And we'd have no EU friends to help us out, not even diplomatically.

Re the Gibraltar "problem". Its very easy to solve imo. Spain and the rest of the EU claim to be all about democracy. We can just give Gibraltar another referendum to determine what its citizens want to do. Last time it happened it was 99% to remain British, and I doubt it would be much different this time.
Then, tell the Spaniards if their fishing boats enter British territorial waters after Brexit, the Royal Navy will use them for target practice.
