True, but I am a lazy 2 pedal lover!
....

Nowt lazy about 2 pedals  ;)

It does hammer the em pee gees though.  ;)
Don't think it does really on newer motors with 8+ speed autos...

My XE certainly does more cog swapping than I cba to, and I like a bit of driver involvement. ;) TC lockup is practically always engaged too, unless hammering it.

I'm still not going to start eating salad and other rabbit food though   :D
A bit of lettuce can be quite tasty, in a bun, with a lump of beef and cheese.

One of my 5 a day.
The cow spent it's life eating greenery .
they robbed it's milk to make cheese and then killed it for beef  :D
A truly versatile creature, that's efficient and fully used. Even the skin is put on our seats.

Just don't tell the vegan mob...

Well, I've said it before. If God hadn't intended us to eat cows, he wouldn't have made them out of steak - he'd have used something inedible - Tofu, for example. :y

Took the Big Black Pussy for a gentle cruise up the motorway after work...   ...and bumped into that DTM geezer.  As it was raining, we went for a cruise in Mrs DTM's milk float. Handles quite well for something that weighs more than a lorry ;D

Raining? It was full on scorchio daan saaf. And our team afternoon out hit on both a restaurant and a bowling alley with seemingly no air con.  :o

Was glad of the air con in the little blue pussy on the way home.

Why does John Major's opinion seem to carry so much weight with the media? It's like he's some kind of elder statesman when, in the job, he was known as the grey man. He needs to shut his cakehole.

I think he's got his eyes on claiming the "turd that won't flush" award from Blair. ::)

<Sigh> If only we had an energy policy.. or a government that did policies, or looked beyond tomorrow's headlines. ::)

I still also think that in its day, the Senator had more of a prestige feel and look about it than the Omega did in its day.  :)

Course it did. The Senator was a peg above the Carlton ..... when the Omega appeared, it replaced both cars.

Yep. First nail in the coffin of decent Vauxhalls was styling them like an Astra. Final nail was driving the wrong wheels like an Astra.

On the other hand, they could discourage the tourists from bringing their money to spend there and see how that works out for the local economy. ;)

I'd be up for that too. :y

I agree, but the claimed 0-60 of the TR6 stretches credibility as much as Fords claimed  power output figures for the Essex V6 did.
A figment of some marketing mans imagination.

Don't you mean noise and heat output? I didn't realise they had any power output! ;D

Just another pig in lipstick from VAG. Cheaper to get an Audi if that's your thing... :y

Timing mark will just be the datum for belt fitting. I doubt there's any position where all the valves are closed.

Yep...200 miles in a low geared 4 speed Escort from the seventies would not be much fun in 2022. However, the Omega can still crush the miles today in comfort. :y

My 1500 automatic Avenger was one of three in the Coventry Motor Museum car park for the owner's club AGM. The other two were local cars. It was quite happy at 70mph on the M1, although there wasn't a lot left ;D . And it was better for that sort of trip than my mother's mk1 Focus....

I seem to remember such a beast known as the Avenger Tiger. Usually yellow, I think.

A mate of mine had one. Had a pair of Dellorto sidedraughts on it, although I think he fitted them and it originally had a pair of Zenith Strombergs?

Was bound to happen.
I was just wondering..........how the hell is Boris now going to have his weekly audience with the Queen and manage to look her in the eye after all thats happened ?  ::)

Yeah, a decent person probably wouldn't be able to stomach that, but this is Boris. ;D

My mate spent £28,000 buying a MGB GT V8 & importing it from New Zealand & is now spending upwards of £25,000 having it completely stripped down & rebuilt , utter waste of money in my opinion for a car which stays in the garage for around 350 days of the year & will no longer be "original". I will admit that the engine sounds beautiful but after a ride in it you appreciate how much vehicles have improved since 1974.

Blimey! One of my neighbours just bought a tidy one with a rebuilt engine for less than half that! :o

Still a lot for a "2 door Morris Oxford". ;D

Technicalities aside, it shows very poor roadcraft to overtake on a road with side roads where there is traffic waiting to turn, IMHO.
