Omega Electrical and Audio Help / ABS ECU
« on: 04 June 2015, 00:04:19 »
Hi guys n gals. I swapped a faulty ABS ECU in my 3.0 auto for another one from a 3.0 manual.
All is well with the lights, they come on, and go off as they should, and as far as I know the TC and ABS are working.
So, is there any reason why I would need to programme the new ECU to match the car, with regards to the gearbox type.
Thanks for any input

Omega General Help / Replacement ABS ECU
« on: 11 May 2015, 02:25:38 »
Will an ABS ECU from a 3.0, manual estate work ok in 3.0 auto saloon?
Not checked the part numbers yet for a match, if they do, happy days I guess.
But if not, what can the difference be?

« on: 03 February 2015, 22:59:26 »
Evening all, can anybody advise as to the best LPG injectors for the Stag system? I have Valteks on at the moment, they do the job in my opinion. But wondered about other people's experiences?

General Car Chat / Very Impressed with Wheels in Motion.
« on: 05 December 2011, 16:32:12 »
I replaced my wishbones the other weekend. I did a few short journeys afterwards, and was happy with the improvement.
Anyway, as I am not very far from Wheels in Motion, and as they are highly regarded on here, I booked in for a session.
Now the handling has improved beyond measure. Feels like a new car, they even managed to move the adjusters on the rear wheel control arms.
Most other tyre centres seem to put all the mirrors on your wheels and then invite you to look at what they can't do because its too much bother, then just do your front toe in/out, if your lucky. Then charge as if they had done the whole lot. :'(
And, thanks to this forum, the charge at WIM was very reasonable.
A big thanks all round. :y
Now all I need is more power. :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Heated Seat Upgrade.
« on: 25 November 2010, 00:17:24 »
Hi all,
I have put some heated front seats in my GLS and some rotary switches in the dash to match, and these light up ok when turned on.
But, the wiring between switches and seat connectors do not appear to be present. Can any kind soul please tell me where I might find it, or will it be a waste of time looking on a GLS spec car. :'(
Also, is it an easy run from switch to seat? Only a pair of wires to each seat after all.
Many thanks. :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDR2005 Aux in?
« on: 16 January 2010, 03:23:12 »
Quick question please.
Does a CDR2005 have an aux in for an MP3 player, or does it have to go via the aerial. The user guide mentions some sort of input for a phone but I am not sure its going to be suitable.
Thanks in advance guys. :y

Omega General Help / My flexi joint gone too?
« on: 13 September 2011, 21:26:00 »
Having seen another post on here about a failed flexi joint on the exhaust pipe, I had a look at mine. The metal braid is all broken on mine, but the pipe does not seem to be leaking.
Will this pass an MOT?, or is it cream crackered and I am living on borrowed time?
I must say I do not know what role the braiding plays on these, does it help hold the joint together at all?
Also seen adverts for non welded clamped types of flexi joint.
Does any one know which to use?
Cheers all.

Does the new ISO2 auto adaptation work on 2 litre Omegas with a Simtec 56.5 ECU. First registered Jan 2001. I dont want to mess it all about if it wont work with my set up and I got an idea it may not be up to it.

Omega General Help / Rear Spring Upgrade?
« on: 19 February 2011, 03:04:44 »
Hi all, I have an LPG tank in the boot and it sits pretty low at the back. I want to upgrade the rear springs or get air assisted shocks. I have read some good things on here about the Monroe air assisted shocks, or could get some tougher springs. Would estate springs fit?
When both petrol and LPG tanks are full and maybe a passenger or two are in the back, it looks really low at the back :-[
Thanks, Alan.

Omega General Help / 2.0 litre HBV.
« on: 13 February 2011, 03:24:54 »
Anybody here changed an HBV on a 2.0 litre. Looks a bit fiddly for access to me. Behind the wheel arch on the drivers side gives a good view of it, but I think i could only get one hand to it though. :o
May be in the same place on a Desmond 2.2 :y
