Black 3.2 Facelift Saloon FS
« on: 16 July 2015, 17:03:40 »

'KH52 DHK' - Owned by me since September 2014 and bought as a project at the time with oil cooler failure and engine issues.

Just approaching 110,000 miles
Automatic
MOT expires I believe September 2015, I can't recall any advisories on the last MOT, which I put it through.
4 x Pirelli P7 tyres with probably a years life left in them

Since purchase I have

- Removed the 2.6 Engine and AR25 gearbox and put them in the bin.
- Fitted a known good 3.2 Engine block which had covered 120k
- Fitted the known good 3.0l cylinder heads from my Elite, after re lapping the valves x 24 and fitting new stem seals
- Replaced Cambelt KIT - it has only covered around 500 miles
- Replaced Aux belt tensioner (assembly and wheel) and auxiliary belt
- Replaced Spark Plugs
- Replaced both Head Gaskets
- Replaced oil cooler with brand new genuine part
- Renewed all fluids
- Fitted Stronger AR35
- Replace rear crank seal
- Replaced ATF
- Replaced Gearbox ECU (this cured the checksum fault issue and restored normal gearbox operation)
Known issues -

- Front multiram doesn't appear to be working. My diagnostic kit is broken so I can't do actuator tests, I suspect a problem there. This is causing a bit of loss of grunt under 4,000 rpm. (Apart from this, it flies, so there is no issue of note)

- Exhaust is aftermarket and upon a quick inspection is poorly fitting and squeaks from the backbox at idle. If I were keeping, I would replace.

- Steering idler has visible play which I believe is the cause of some tramlining.

- There is one occasional noisy lifter on the 2-4-6 bank. From a cold start it's fine. If you listen you can hear it chatter a bit until fully warm, it then goes away and stays away, until the next time you start from cold. If you get in and drive you don't hear it at all, you only hear it if you stand and listen. No cause for concern, I've just popped some wynnes lifter treatment in after another oil change with GM 10/40 and it seems a lot better. I'm confident this will go away.

- There is a weep from the front crank seal. A replacement is included with sale, I never got around to fitting it.

Things to finish off

- 3.0 cats are fitted. Lambda bosses need welding to the cats after the exhaust for the secondary lambdas. At the moment, because they're not fitted, the fault light is on to say so. (There are no other fault codes)

- Strangely some of the front air conditioning gubbins (pipes etc) was not present when I bought the car. I'm sure it could be restored but treat this as a car without aircon. I know some are very keen on aircon, it doesn't bother me that much in the UK!

Observations

Interior is very tidy indeed with original Omega mats, very clean looking and smelling, not been smoked in
Alloys especially are VGC
Parrot Bluetooth system, plug and play with any iPhone etc, works very well
Good sound system, 4 x CD changer
Lazy central door locking on passenger door
Sunroof surround (top of roof) tatty
Marks and imperfections commensurate with a car of this age

Buying options

£900 - as is
£1150 - with the new front crank seal fitted and known good cat back exhaust from my elite breaker fitted.

I should also mention that the 4 x camshaft seals were changed, and that as a matter of course, the coolant bridge washers, and all other top end seals were changed.
The car also has a brand new genuine HBV fitted :y

I should also add that when I Say "replaced Cambelt kit, it has only covered 500 miles" -
The Cambelt kit was Brand new, recently bought contitech, and that car has covered about 500 miles since I did the transplant :y

This beast has just developed a front wheel wobble between 50-55mph.

I'm exhausted through work and I've lost interest.

£700 takes her away. Very tidy and clean 3.2.
