Omega General Help / Re: 3.2 v6

did you notice any difference with 3.0 downpipes??

does anyone know for midrange torque what cams on exhaust are best to compliment the G inlet cams.... F,E,J,A

Have done the 3.0L downpipes, to stop the 420 codes.

The cams will give a bit acceleration,.

As for a manual gearbox, you only have two feet. ;D

someone whos post is a waste of time.. nothing constructive to say dont say anything simple

next youll be saying ported heads wont do anything either

did i ask about a manual box no.

upping fuel pressure if mapped to suit can alleviate flat spots just wanting to know has anyone had it done
think ill do remap, 3.0 downpipes with single cats, stainless mandrel bent cat back exhaust and go from there..

should see something at least main bottleneck in manifolds i know but as one of most costly things leave that till last

Six things which are a waste of time and money.

Fit a manual box and call it done :y

Omega General Help / 3.2 v6
« on: 15 March 2017, 10:02:47 »
Just acquired my dads 3.2 mv6 so going to sell my 3.2 elite.
So ive decided going to doo as much as can without breaking bank hahah N/a improving gas in and out of engine, mapping  and fuelling.

not after big gains just little improvements already capable car.

1.anyone fitting tubular manifolds to a RHD v6 omega? if so where did you purchase them or has anyone ever modified ford Probe ones to fit?

2.anyone fitted 2.5/3.0 single cat downpipes to a 3.2 how do you feel it ran afterwards

3. anyone had their 3.2 remapped ?  motorsport developments said they can do it not a huge gain 13bhp but said should make it a lot smoother? anyone got any thoughts on remaps?

4. anyone fitted 4bar reg in conjunction with a remap and or other mods

5. Mantzle germany list a gearbox map for ecu anyone had this fitted??

6. finally any benefit in swapping my Exh J cams for Exh A cams. dont want G as shift power to far up but unsure as to wether J or A are better for midrange

cheers in advance to all comments

Omega General Help / Re: Sport mode 3.2
« on: 08 March 2017, 16:14:05 »
Mine doesn't down shift once revs start dropping ..

Say booting it in second do 70-80 ease of gas as revs come down it won't drop to first on its own does same as not in sport drop revs to idle until u engage gas again ???

My dads downshifts in gear as revs are suitable on its own ie easing of revs drop so it mocks it down a gear to keep revs up  3.2 mv6

Omega General Help / Sport mode 3.2
« on: 07 March 2017, 18:42:49 »
When engaging sport mode in an omega should it lock out 4th gear and also down shift as revs drop??

In sport it more eager to accelerate but if i boot it and let off revs comes down a bit then just drop to idle as if in normal mode always thought as comes down should downshift for you...

Also once i hit 50/60 will still drop into fourth if steadyish??

 Anyone lend some insight

Two questions...

1. Will the gearbox last more than five mins?

auto box is bullet proof used in all the holdens and corvettes .. you can buy hi stall torque convertors for them aswell to aid launches off line

2. Is a half second gain on the 0-60 time worth £4k plus box?

who mentioned 0.5sec gain ?? i didnt .. with 300bhp and good gearing you probobly looking around 6 secs to 60 in comfort and a car which will surprise everyone..

the question was never asked on opinion on money or worth it for however quicker it makes it...

just had anyone done certain things and did certain things fit or not

Ten out of ten for imagination though ;)

Have been tempted by bike throttle bodies .. run bike carbs on sierra so know who to knock a manifold haha

Didnt know that but once git hold of them can be modified nothing a tig set and pipe cant sought out

Manual Plod Omega will do that 0-60 without any mods :-X
[/quote

My auto does it thays what was saying and as standard they are not slow so with 300ish bhp should be nippy for size of car

You may find using the German exhaust manifolds a challenge as they don't consider the presence of the steering box on the 1-3-5 bank side (as its on the 2-4-6 side for the left hooker).

Would be very interesting to see the V6 with throttle bodies although I do wonder if it would be easier on the wallet to use bike throttle bodies and get a manifold knocked up.

Jenvey kit is smidge over 2k...

Management around 700

Header and downpipes 640 off the shelf from germany

Its worth doi a few bectra owners have done it to 3.0 and seen fantastic results 300+ bhp in omega be good with the four long geared auto box .. taller diff 60 in first .. should go quick not slow anyways

7.3-7.5 0-60. ... ive raced 3.0 xf c320 mercs and more and omega surprises all standard..

Yes could go and buy a 550i for 8k.. but dont want a 5 series..

With about 4k i reakon i could have it running on throttle bodies management exhaust and maybe evem tweak suspension and habe a stonker omega ..

Car owes me nothing so still half price of a bmw

Btw again will 2.5/3.0 rocker covers fit my later heads are gaskets same so that i can install plugs and leads??

Anyone on here used Jenveys throttle body kit for v6 ?? or know of anyone who used it. if so how was it ?

on my 3.2 will 2.5/3.0 rocker covers go straight on my later coil on plug head so i can use ignition leads with a proper coil pack (this is for if i go aftermarket management i know cant be done electrically as standard. as mine is coil on plug not dis pack)

anyone fitted stainless 3-1 manifolds and downpipes to their v6 if so any reviews or info on it??

anyone running aftermarket management if so so what are yo running ???

also whos had the most out of their v6 ?? looking on vectra owners and few other places throttle bodies and exhaust are reckoning around 300bhp+ someone has apparently done it but cant find the car
