hi to all, before i start i would like to say have spent over a hour going through the previous posts about the central locking problems to find a result but not as yet.
so,
the problem i have is i gues something sticking,maybe?
when i use the remote to unlock car it unlocks all except drivers door,although on the odd occasion it does. when i go to lock using remote does same again all ecept drivers door although you see the pin going down a bit.
i have tried the key in ignition thing but if i unlock car then get in put key into pos 2 then press remote to lock nothing happens. i can press dr door pin and goes down locking all it does pull up again all be it a bit sticky and unlocks all.
i hope this makes some sense as its doing my head in, many thanks

Duff solenoid. Had this issue before where the lock bounces a little but the solenoid doesn't have the guts to move it. Off to breakers and find a new one or ask in here

Indeed, normally a tired door lock motor.

Replacign the microswitches inside may help, or a known good 2nd hand one from a breaker here. Bit fiddly to change.

thanks for that can i ask if any members in my area of fife can do this fiddly job,as my skills are lets just say crap at mechanical issues.

Usually the microswitches that actuate the motor are dirty. The drivers door has two micro switches and a replacement unit costs more than the other doors which only have one. Try vigorously working the door pin up and down manually and see if it solved the problem. There are some good guides on this forum if you need to replace. The hardest part is getting the door trim off!

I had the same problem a couple of months ago. I followed the guide on here, replaced the micro switches and it works perfectly.

Yep, same happened to me. I followed the "how to guide" and replaced the microswitches. Cost about £1.99 each from RS Components. (Maplins may do similar ones?)
