It looks like the new position does take this into account, but it's worth mentioning anyway.

The important part of siting the hbv is the height, relative to the water bottle and the engine block. Or, effectively, the same height as the original position of the hbv when on its post at the back of the engine.

Reason is these things leak, often, obviously, hence the reason to move it to a more accessible point in the first place. But, because they leak and a water system will only leak down as far as the nearest hole, it needs to be positioned low enough, that the water level drops enough to set the coolant warning off, but none of the coolant poors out of the engine. This is bad, and could cause over heating and seizure. This is why the factory sited it so. Although a rear wheel drive application means it's under the scuttle on omegas, which is awkward.

While a failed hbv in the stock position will appear to empty the coolant bottle, it is still possible to drive the car without fear of seizing the engine or over heating, as the critical coolant level of emptying the working cooling system has not been breached. When the hbv fails, you will need to get the car home or to a dealer for repairs, or catch that ferry when stuck in deepest darkest Cheese eating surrender monkey country. Or, as this guide, repair it at the road side eith the spare we all carry in the boot. Right?

In short, insure the hbv is at the same height as the original position

Also, keep the original spring clips. Jubilee clips always leak by at the worm gear. Usually within a year, as those with lpg conversions will probably testify.
