Replacement for Photobucket ?
« on: 03 November 2017, 20:29:18 »

Now that PB charges a vital internal organ or two to host photos etc. is there an alternative free site to use for uploading pics to OOF and similar sites.  :-\

Just post the link up without the bit. People can still click on it to see the images  :y

And if the pics are relevant to guides etc, they can readily be copied in order to be OOF hosted...

What is the best replacement for PB then? I seem to recall someone before suggesting a 'cloud' product of some kind but I can't find the thread. I need to migrate my pix from PB to another host. Don't mind paying a reasonable amount if necessary.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Thank you Chris. Yes it was pCloud. Do you use them?
I have quite a lot of pictures on PB for my Lagonda forum and website.
Is there an easy way to (bulk) migrate pictures/files from PB to another host or does it have to be done piece meal?
Remember I am an IT cretin.  ;D

Ive pretty much tried or used them all over the years, and from my view Pcloud is up there with the best, for me prob the best, it just works and it fast, Ive got a couple of free accounts that I use, tbh if I didnt have the ongoing 2tb of MS OneDrive that I get free (which is bloody slow and has painful PC Sync App), I would probably subscribe and pay for pCloud.

Theres quiet a few nice features to pCloud, the best one for me is it has a remote URL Uploader feature, which is really handy, for example, rather than download a file to your PC, just copy the Download URL link, paste that into pCloud for up load and it will doanload the file directly into pCloud (ie, a 1gb File takes a few seconds to upload directly), rather than downloading something then having to upload it again to your Cloud Storage. Handy for swapping Files between Cloud Hosters or if your on the Mobile, upload the URL on the fly and download from the pCloud later when youve got WiFi access.

Swapping you PB Files across should be fairly easy using the URL Uploader.

If you want try it use the link below and your get an extra Igb (I think is 1 if not then 500mb) on top of your free account which starts at 10gb, you can get this up 20gb free by doing some simple invite friends, email, twitter, Facebook kind of stuff. or just subscribe for 500gb, 1tb, 2tb, etc if your a heavy user, they also started to do a Lifetime Membership (One Off Fee) for some good storage, personaly I would trust doing that, as theve been around for a while now.

Ive just had a quick look to easy it is to download your entire Library from Photobucket, seems that PB have taken that away now, you use to be able to do it under Actions (Download Album) thats now gone  >:( probably only avaible under there Ramsom Money subscribtion now.  :-\ You also use to be able to do it by using the PC Desktop PB App that doesnt work anymore either.  :(

The little Shitbags   >:( >:(  Upload your Photos but you cant download them back  ::)

It is possible to download images from PB but time consuming. Not finished yet. I will just have to deal with any broken links later. Thanks for help.

Yea, unlikely to be the original size and quality though unless your a paid up member.

You can batch download or download the entire folder(s) using the Mobile App, but again I dont think there the original quality the same that you uploaded. Not a real problem for most or Forum use but guessing if you where a Amateur or Pro Photographer could be a bit frustrating if youve used PB to store your precious pics.
