Kaspersky has had some bad press lately, and have supposedly given the source to various Western authorities for them to look at.

Clearly the US security agencies still aren't happy, but whether or not that's the US playing silly buggers or Kaspersky showing modified code will never been known.

This is not the first time this has been rumoured, and part of the reason I stopped using it 15+ years ago.  That said, I wouldn't use AVG or Avast either ;D

Yes I read about the latest troubles on the news just before my annual renewal came round.

Personally I don`t think the average user has much to worry about and Putin certainly isn`t going to be interested in by browsing habits, it probably has more to do with it being trendy to hate the Russians at the moment. I still use it and it still works well.

IIRC Chrome doesn`t notify you through Windows for updates so it`s definitely fishy.

I use Kaspersky and it has a software updater so I get notifications through that, which is nice because it flags up anything untoward  :y

I drove down the M1 (a little - M6 to Northampton) on Saturday and noticed the gantry-side cameras flashing away, even without lowered limits visible.. interestingly, those are the "single large wide box" gantry-side cameras; the "two small box" (HADECS3) gantry-side cameras we have further south (Northampton to M25) don't seem to flash without lowered limits being visible.

(The big yellow ones under at the bottom of the page, here: https://www.speedcamerasuk.com/speed-camera-types.htm)

A lot of cameras on the smart motorways are active 24/7 now and not just when the lowered limits are shown, M25 was the first one IIRC

Just got my renewal for the Datsun and it`s gone down £20 so I`m not even bothering shopping round this year  :)

Churchill, Thatcher, Farage - the three national heroes who saved Britain from tyranny within the last century.  :)

Shouty Farage has called our great leader 'Theresa the appeaser'

Not very nice, is it?

No but he has a point.

I don`t think that anyone that voted for brexit wanted this outcome.

I always wait for the renewal letter, though Admiral have been far cheaper than any other company for Zed.

Just been on the meerkat site and tried my car only. The quote I got from aviva was around £480. I disregarded the first couple of around £360 because they sounded like Mickey Mouse outfits, with the extras I wanted costing more. The average quotes from the usual suspects were all around the same as aviva. One company, called achoice, wanted £1011  ;D
I'm gonna bite the bullet, I think. Cest la vie.

It is fortunate that your good lady has a job that means you are all 'dripping with wealth'. I hear rumours that even your whippet wears a solid gold collar.

Spare a thought for those  impoverished souls living in rural poverty in Lincolnshire. :'(
.....who buy jaguar motor cars to use as 'toys'. You poor sod.

Yes....but Barnsley is the London of the north with it's bright lights and sexy women. I live in the tundra so I need the Jag to stop me from hanging myself. :)

You`ve clearly never been to Barnsley  ;D
We went to Leeds to get Mo's car. I know where I'd rather live.

Leeds is a big place  ;)
I know, but, like most big cities, about three quarters of it is a shithole.  ;D

I agree with that one  :y

So poor little Johnny falls off his push bike and hits his head on one of these, not gonna end well if it`s capable of puncturing a tyre  :-\

Possibly.....but I'd like to know all costs before rather than after.

The invoice has the oil down as Fuelsaver A1 5/20.......no idea what that is. :-\
You'll get whatever sh1te the bean counter had the bulk tank filled with, regardless of what it says on the invoice.

I can't prove they have done either. No dipstick to find dirty or clean oil on.

When take the Datsun in for a service I provide the oil and get the oil deducted from the service cost, it might work out more expensive but at least I know what oil is going in.
Essentially I've paid £225 for an oil and filter change. :-\

Probably my Cranky Mind, but when ever I see one of those Wind Turbine thingys I always think (or try and work out) what the actual speed is of the leading edge of the Blade, then after some considerable consideration, normally about 20 seconds the theme always moves into, I wonder how long Someone would last being strapped to one of them at the edge?  ;D :D

I reckon about 5 mins before passing out on a good spinner, probably about 15 mins before your Body and Brain just totally give up the ghost.  :-\

I was told a few years ago that it was 190mph, i didn`t believe them so I googled it and google came up with the same speed.

It really doesn`t look that fast  :-\
