Omega General Help / propshaft balance/vibration damper question
« on: 01 February 2016, 23:00:23 »
on my trackcar there is a vibration damper/balance weight just behind the gearbox on the driveshaft.

what is the reason for this?
do all omega's got this?
is this thing necessary?  ::)
and if so, what is the correct way to mount it? (haven't marked the position it came off and doubt if it will do anything when it is in a different position)

reason why i ask is offcourse the weight, but more important, on the calibra rwd we are building we are missing that part and that wil be a daily driver  8)

my trackcar is based on a v6 with servotronic..

what would happen if i disconnect/remove it? heavy, normal or light steering?
any way to lock the solenoid in 1 position? or better, make it adjustable?

problem is that i've got no vss signal.
will work on that later with a signal converter and 1 abs sensor but for the time being gonna work with a gps speedo

is it possible to make my x30xe accept the later 2.6/3.2 dual "cop" coils?

saves a lot of mess in the engine bay and less power loss on the wires  8)

Omega General Help / sport/racing clutch omega v6
« on: 12 May 2015, 19:16:40 »
anyone know where i can get a paddle clutch setup for the omega? (v6)
got no problem with a different flywheel, will lighten it anyway.

i prefer a sprung loaded 6 puck or something like that.. as long as it isn't a 3puck solid one  ::)

saw that the f28 clutch got the same amount of splines, only a cm smaller in diameter ..it that a option with a c20let flywheel?

Omega Gallery / drakos, omega trackday toy
« on: 11 May 2015, 22:13:55 »
after i saw that my welcome topic is closed after a week ( that must be why i didn't get any response anymore  :-\ )
i thought let's post the updates for my trackday toy over here.

it started a few weeks ago as a full option 2.5 manual.. it is painted in plastidip so it wil get back to it original deep red soon
(they only put up one or two layers, nightmare to remove )

after a good few hours of stripping it looks like this

the plan is to strip out all of the weight, build a rollcage, allready got 2 cobra seats, rebuild the engine (headgasket failed) and then tear it down the track  8)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / v6 acceptable fault codes
« on: 26 April 2015, 13:05:22 »
for my track project i'm going to strip out everything that is not strictly necessary.

so the question is.. what can i strip out without influencing the running of the engine

Evaporative emission control systemPurge control valve?
Vehicle speed sensor? (going to remove the abs and traction control)
secundairy air pump? ( i know if i leave the relay it won't trow a code but rather remove the entire wiring..)
exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve?

don't care about the mil light coming on
i've got a code reader so after every lap/race i will read the ecu for new codes.. and not gonna stop in the middle a lap for new codes... rather destroy the engine  :P

Newbie Welcome Area / drakos here with my omega trackday toy
« on: 25 April 2015, 16:29:23 »
let's introduce myself. my (nick)name is drakos and i'm from the netherlands

and got my omega pick't up today.

it is a 2.5 manual diamont edition from 95.. so full options, climate, electric leather seats, electric window front and rear etc...
on the outside it is dull gray and got some sort of bodykitt i supose  ::)

now the plan; going to rebuild the engine because the headgasket failed (maybe swap it for a 3.0)..completely strip out the interior and only leave a striped dash in place, even the sound deadening and inside off the doors have to go..lightweight fix't windows, 2 bucket seats and a rollcage and that is it... a trackday toy

will make a topic as soon as i start stripping it out  ;)
