I've lowered mine, but fitted the full irmscher suspesion kit. You can get spring only set's for around £130-150 from Eibach, makes a big differences on the look and handling of the car  :)

I'm told that it can make a big difference to the tyre wear rate unless you get it properly 4 wheel aligned to suit the new height with particular attention to the camber angle.
Heh - you have one so you know how sensitive they are on standard set up.
Whilst I agree that dropping mine would look better but it's just not gonna happen - love the car to bits but it is on 132000 miles and is just over six years old so can't justify the spondulies.
