Yep... Looks that way haha! What other "go faster" things can be done to these? In sure I've read on here you can advance the injector pump a tooth?

Would have thought swapping the 3.5 BMW lump in would be a pretty straight forward exercise  :-\ assuming you can get one for sensible money of course...

You can get around 185 bhp from the BM 2.5TDS's through remapping, and just under 200 Bhp with more tweaking with Turbo size and boost pressure but they don't last very long.  ::)

Sounds tempting... But the less I spend on the car the better. Although if one comes up for scrap money with a decent lump...  ;D :D

Longevity isn't a concern.. Not much of one anyway. I have a spare engine just incase.  :y I'd happily push it to within an inch of its life  ;D

My first td saloon was damn quick for what it was, I swear that was more than just chipped! Used to light the tyres so easy it wasn't fun to drive in the wet in a hurry, and saw me get pulled by s copper one night who claimed he was doing 140 "and still didn't catch you up"  :-X

I have seen 230bhp quoted for the off road boys in the Range Rover from a reputable company. This does of course mean extensive mods and lots of money, would be good fun though!!!

Bear in mind the 2.5TDS had a few more horses than the standard BM 2.5TD lumb, and the latter had more than the Omega flavoured, so a fair way to go to get the Omega up to them kind of figures.

Longevity, hmm, depends of your own definitions really, we use to Track them (325's) and they rarely used to make it to the final lap, a stupidly short lived weekend hobby if Im honest.

The engine does let go quite spectacularly if pushed too much...  ...possibly due to oilways prone to clogging.

The chip guy I used to chip my tractor used to do chips for £70 delivered, though think a lot cheaper now. He himself had a TD manual with 427 ECU that went well, one of the quickest I've driven. Omegatoy has a quick tractor as well, chipped, intercooler fan manually controlled, and we played with the wastegate one day (using tech1 to keep an eye on boost and temps), can't remember if that's a 214 or 427 ECU though...  ...Omegatoy?

Thinking about it, must be 214, as I'd use Tech2 one a DDE2.1 (as the Tech1 sucks!)

Umm.. ok maybe I am concerned about longevity, would like to get at least a few weeks out of it haha ;D

The one on eBay at the moment for around the £40 mark looks like the same company name as whats printed on the label on my old chip.. Think I'll go with one of those as the gains impressed me with the last one  :y

While I'm here, I've just discovered my fuel pump isn't coming on, and haven't yet found evidence of power at the wiring plug. Which relay/fuse needs checking?
