I got a pair of stainless steel number plate surrounds a couple of weeks ago from a UK seller.
When I opened up the package there was a pair of light cotton gloves included.
I thought " how thoughtful of them including these so that the stainless doesn't get fingerprints on them........
As soon as I started to assemble the two parts of each surround I slashed two of my fingertips deeply ending up bleeding everywhere. The edges of theses surrounds were razor sharp akin to a stanley blade.
I couldn't believe it.
I contacted them and they admitted that they knew there was a problem hence the gloves .
The problem was that on a tailgate like our Yeti it's all too easy to inadvertently brush your hand against it and each time you wash with a sponge it just slices it.
They offered a refund if I sent them back at my cost and wouldn't budge on that so I thought sod them . I wrote a damming review and posted negative feedback.
Honestly they should never have been sold to the public and were the most dangerous items i've ever purchased.
I spent some time on them dulling the edges using a dremel, a power finger file and 800 grit and they're safe now but even then cut my fingers again.
