Simple answer you can't get classic car insurance unless your a member of a recognised car club :y

Rubbish. Unless you're trying to convince them that something as new and ubiquitous as a 15 year-old Omega qualifies as a 'classic car.'

Try a 29 year senator  :P :P

Why anybody would pay to be a member of a forum these days is beyond me.  Unless you enjoy the self congratulatory cliquey journalism and generic advertising they churn out once a month.  ::)

As for TC access just open an account direct with VX. Not like they do any sort of diligent checking of your entitlement anyway.

Also you get discounted entry to shows (plus camping) which makes it worth the while joining.

Cheers for the replies guys.
I never thought about the Dizzy being worn/loose.
All the leads are bosch and the plugs NGK.
I would ask on ABS (been a member for 10 years) but I can't remember my password or user i.d lol.
This engine doesn't have the ron plug and as ive found out getting parts is a pain in the arse because the 1986 senny A was made up with parts from GM/OPEL & VAUXHAL.
The car goes great it's more so noticeable when moving of from a standing start.
I replace the fuel pump.
The next step will be a compression test  :y

Right all ive been having a wee problem with my Senny backfiring into the inlet manifold.

The timing is spot on all the leads, coil, plugs etc replaced but it stills does it.

Its a 1986 3.0 cdi

Im thinking along the lines of the valves and valve seats could be burnt out.

It came out of the factory as a unleaded (2 star) engine.

Any suggestions  :-\ :-\

Just take the parts off the car you want then take it to the scrap yard with the V5 and your driving licence for I.D.
The scrap yard is only interested in the V5 and they will give you a transfer/proof of destruction note.
No need to put car in your name :y
