Slave security alarm
« on: 04 October 2015, 20:47:56 »

Has anyone ever heard of an aftermarket security alarm that can be slaved off an immobiliser set up?
My peugeot van has a keyfob which when pressed locks the doors, flashes the indicators and arms the immobiliser. It's not an alarm though (which I found out when it was broken into). I would like some alarm thing that i can link to the immobiliser, with some interior sensors to fit, and doorswitch or voltage monitoring. So when connected, simply applying power would make it work. hopefully.
I don't want something that comes with a fob. I have a fob, i don't want two.

Any ideas or info is appreciados.

I wasn't being facetious. Retro fitting such things never ends well, unless of course the factory alarm is a plug and play addition to the standwrd immobiliser ;) Worth asking the question at local Peugeot dealer :y

Well, okay. Ta.
It would be funny if you'd used the word ' faecesious' by the way. Purposeful wrong words are always funny.

Back on topic:
I wouldn't sell my van and then buy another just to have more security. No more than i would sell my Omega to do the same.
I am spurred on by T.M.F.s suggestion, after pasting it into Google I've found I have a lot of research to do. I found out that my van has a MargaretThatcher Cat2 immobiliser as standard, and it seems possible to upgrade it using the original remote.
Ideally I want the bits from eBay and fit them myself. I just have to find out the manufacturer of mine and track down the corresponding bits.
I think.

I suspect it will need dealer programming, so the ebay/diy route might not be the best option :-\
