Omega General Help / Re: CLUNK! Was that the diff??
« on: 25 November 2010, 17:45:07 »
when my diff broke i heard a clicking noise from under the car which increased with the road speed,  at first i thought it was a stone in the tread, the clicking became a knocking after time, i replaced the diff and found one of the driveshafts was stuck, the CV had broke inside it and no matter what i did i couldn`t free it so i bought a complete driveshaft with CVs as i couldn`t find anywere that just sold rthe CVs.
i agree changing the rear springs is quiet an easy job as long as you can get good access under the car

Omega General Help / Re: flat spot missing dti 2.2
« on: 04 November 2010, 17:25:09 »
its does have some power under 2000rpm but as with every other turbo car i`ve had diesel and petrol when the turbo boosts you feel it, my 2.2dti vectra was great when it came to power just except my miggy will be slower it gathers speed rather than accelerates before the turbo
its the flat spot after i`ve been coasting that is getting on my  nerves, i`ll try and get round to the EGR valve as soon as, the car runs realy good in every other way

thanks for that
where abouts on the turbo was it? i changed the full unit including manifold and acculator but if its a common prob it may indeed be split,  they do go through oil return gaskets alot

Omega General Help / flat spot missing dti 2.2
« on: 01 November 2010, 15:49:27 »
hiya,
i asked this question a few months but can`t remember getting  any replies so i`ll try again.
i drive a 2.2 dti 02 and when i coast in any high gear with the revs at just below 2000rpm i get a flat spot or miss when i apply the accelerator, i`ve changed the complete turbo ( only because it was leaking oil and the splines where a little chipped) filters twice and the problem is still there.
can anyone please help with some ideas???
 cheers

Omega General Help / Re: Oil leak turbo oil cooling
« on: 01 November 2010, 19:49:24 »
hiya,
these turbos do suffer from return oil pipe gasket, which is on the under body, you will need to undo the 2 torx bolts on the turbo plus the union at the other end where it meets the block, the gasket is only less than a £1, i`ve had 2 turbos and they both needed replacing

Hi!

Does anybody use drilled or grooved brake discs on her/his car? I'm planning to renew my brake system and these discs are looking good. It would be great if you could give me valuable advice, what kind of discs are good quality and which are not on Ebay. So If you could offer me a reliable one I would be haopy (certainly If it's exsits)

hiya, i`ve bought a few sets of mtec100 from ebay, had them for my Calibra turbo ( chipped 245bhp), Vectra and now on my 2.2 dti Omega, never had any trouble with them at all. they stop the car just as good as normal ones, i bought them really as cosmetic rather than performance. they look really good with painted calipers, nothing too blurish. don`t know how to put pictures on here but if you want i could send you some.

that sounds about right , i didnt think  the impact sensors were in th door, i`ll be gutted if i`ve got to pay out just to have someone turn the light off

If you can live with it for a few weeks, my 'Cheapo Tech II' should be able to turn it off for you. I'm busy all this week end, then in work till Sat then away for a fortnight.
Then I need to see someone in Swinton!   ::)  ::)  ::) .......
