Ive just picked up a 2.5 Elite with towbar and thought i`d benchmark it towing a horsebox compared to the Grand Cherokee.

However the lights ( any of them) on the trailer dont work in conjunction with the miggy being linked up, they all work perfectly with the Jeep towing.

So I conclude  ;D that theres a problem with the wiring or summit on the omega towbar.

Its got the towball and wiring thingy at the end with the 7? pins and all the fuses are fine.

So where do i go next to determin the problem? Is it easy to fault find at this stage or do i get it rewired...

I know nowt about electrics or towbars in case you didnt notice....

TIA  :y

Hi Markie, can you resise your avatar please :y

I would take the rear trim panel off and see if it is wired at all ::)

Its all wired mate, checked that, as for avatar im in the office now and dont have one apparently ( however i do have pc issues that may prohibit me seeing it....

:o way over my head - i guess its not as easy as taking original speakers out and simply wiring new ones into same connectors  ;D

Birthday time sooon.....wife wants to know what i want.

I mean what do you buy the man that has everything ...( Idea : Facelift 3.2 mv6  :))

Struggling for ideas then i though . o O Omega sounds.

Anyone got any recommendations for an AMP and replacement speakers that will fit in the original door housings, if i recall correctly the Omega speakers are quite shallow.

I dont under any circumstances want to change the head unit as i use the phone function on my crt700 often. I also dont like phone kits etc so it must stay.

Would appreciate any ideas

Way out West....you could be looking at two different issues re that misfire. How bad are we talking misfire wise ( any more than norm for an Omega?)

Mine has mayo in the filler cap but i do 2 miles a day at the most, ile be driving it to London from shropshire wensday so that will give it a run.

Sorry to see this and hopfully you get it sorted.

BTW how much of a rare case is it for the Headgaskets to go on these ?

Its only the second or third i`ve seen in 4 years.....very very rare!
We had a handful of 1998 3.0l go - mine included - but that was coolant leaking to outside...

Aye yours was one of the ones i was thinking of, was there not also a mammoth thread on a rebuild by MDTM on a car that was then crashed....sure it ran to like 25 pages long  ::)

yep they are different for pre and post facelift and i think also for auto and manual.

I would only go for like for like personally - otherwise its going to be more difficult to work out if theres a fault or a compatibility issue if it doesnt work.
