I have owned this Omega for over 13 years, a record for me, but now it has to go, witnessed by son and grandson. Charles Trent gave me £184 for it, and the friendly driver let my grandson look into his cab.

Did you have to haggle for £184? They quoted me £122 today for my estate 😞
Trent offered me £184, the Liverpool lot offered me £134. My local scrappy pays me about £80.

I think Terry's was a 3.0 with a manual box. Might have made a difference.  :-\
Can they learn whether manual or auto from the registration number? Log book said 2003 3.2 petrol police special, that could be either.

Once again, I think the 'special' translates as manual.

It doesn't. ;)

Special refers to the trim level, identifying the car as a non retail, special order model. Options included gearbox choice, diff choice, alternator/battery choice etc...

I logged into the Charles Trent web site, inserted reg. no. and post code, and up came the offer of £184. A women rang later with enquiries about when would be convenient to collect,  payment method, etc.

Scrap is a reasonably volatile commodity, especially mixed scrap.

My mate whom I helped kill a 206 got £40 for the rolling shell from a chap on face ache. ;)

To sell on?  Surely, if Terry Paget has to remove, he may as well sell himself :P

Getting a gearbox from Somerset to Liverpool would surely dent any profit to be had.

Depends on how much they are being sold for, not counting the rest of the parts :-X
