There doesn't seem to be a part number on my idler arm, only GM12 SRD2. The number could be round the other side. Is this the correct part number 9195731 for my Omega 2.2i 2003 idler arm?
I put this part number in bay and it shows it for a Carlton. I think there might be 2 sizes.
Phoned Vauxhall and they have just said the part is now obsolete.

Anyone using the Febi Bilstein idler arm and how long do they last?
I want to keep the car for many years to come if possible.

Vauxhall/Opel are no longer able to supply them in Europe.
Trying to remember what brand Autovaux once sent me (under their usual guise of "genuine") which lasted about 4 months. Might have been Febi.
The last Lemforder I had (from AGP) lasted about 18 months.
If anyone knows of a brand that does last, I'm all ears...

Just been offered a old stock ZF Idler arm for less than £50. Was told these are the original idler arm supplier. Can anyone please confirm this?

If it's unused, then it has to be worth a punt :y
Also, iirc, ZF make the steering box, so it's a reasonable suggestion...

I've a few gallon of chockfast orange ,IF .....
anyone going to the Brackley meet has any bummed old arms :-\
I could prototype a mould and try a refurb
the only arm I have spare is brand new ::)

Supeflex do a range of poly leaf spring shackle bushes which can be modified to fit the idler, comes in two parts & needs to be drilled to suit the mounting. Looks ok but not fitted or tested yet :y

The cap above the bush is part no 90305712, but the bush itself is part of the idler arm and not available seperately - at least from Vauxhall. Maybe it is from other suppliers, but I've no info on this.

According to the ZF catalogue the bush is available separately from the arm as LEMFÖRDER 11602 03. AKA Boge 87-020-A. ZF made the original Pitman and idler arms for GM, likely supplied as part of a larger assembly.

I have not tried it myself. Pressing the old bush out and the new one in might pose a bit of a problem, possibly why the arm and bush are sold as an assembly.

ZF were the supplier. But as always, what they supplied GM often isn't (for either cost or contractual reasons) what is supplied to the aftermarket channel.
Lemforder are part of the ZF group, and we know their idlers don't last brilliantly.

Car has just past it's mot part test. So all good for another year. :y I won't bother with the ZF for now if they don't last long. I might send some emails out later to Powerflex ect and tell them about the forum and if they might want to make a bush for the idler arm.
