After some research Ive found Airfix 1 has a duff injector. It looks like its not easy to replace them without taking out a second mortage at a Renault dealer.
They need to be coded to the engine, and apparently if I buy a used one with different code numbers on to the original, its hit & miss whether or not its possible to recode it the same as the other three.
Have emailed two local diesel specialists who say they reply the same day, and had no reply from them after two days, so am pretty stuck at the moment and not sure how to proceed.

Two wheel bearings - £120 each for the parts (cheap as I can find them online) and 3hrs labour

Yeah, I wasn't unhappy with that :) I'd have done it myself (it's not a bad job, besides potentially separating rusty bits of metal) but couldn't find a free weekend to fit it in before I need to do a run to Welsh Wales over Christmas, and the bearings were starting to get really loud - not to mention it's cold, wet and the RRS doesn't fit in the garage so I'd be on the driveway ;D

2x Timken bearings (OE) at £120 plus the dreaded, and 3hrs labour at £65/hr at the local LR indy. Could have had SKF bearings for a tenner a piece more, but Timken come recommended on the owners forums :y

When he turns up, stand up, gather your stuff together and make to leave. If he asks where you're going, point out that the meeting was at 8 am and that you have other things to attend to.

Take a picture of his expression and then leave :y
This all depends on what flavour of colleague he/she is. Senior colleague or junior colleague.
If junior, they should learn something from the experience. If senior, then they deserve all the respect that such an action demonstrates...after all, leaders lead, but managers (barely) manage ;)

Pretty sure its Renault diagnostics only but will enquire further. Resident expert on the Renault forum warns strongly against buying used ones with high expectations of being able to programme them to the engine. He says its pot luck and theres a good chance it wont work.
My thoughts at the moment are to ignore his advice, buy one for £40 and hope for the best.
After that ? buy a box of swan vestas might be the wise option.

maybe a local garage can program them, worth a few phone calls

I won the race anyway
another Astra H added to the fleet  ;D
2007 design 5 dr hatch but not diesel , a 1.6 petrol ,my brother won't do many miles ,so petrol will be fine
looked at loads ,lots of lies on adverts  >:( and decided the petrol one was the best of what was about local.
prices seem high at the moment and i couldn't be arsed to bid on ebay ones and take that chance without viewing them .

back then I drove cavaliers

I'm not doing a list of all the astras we've had  ;D too many  :P
I do like the astras for the family members do drive , not for me to drive as a daily though  ;D
someone at the factory got the drawings the wrong way round and made the front wheels the driving wheels on astra  :-\
plus i like the large boot that my Omega RWD has
don't think they did an astra saloon since belmont in the uk
