A Picture of my Baby being MOT'd

422
Stress over, MOT passed with a few advisories, rear tyres worn on the inside, brake pipes slightly corroded, rear pads low, stone chip in windscreen outside of zone A.

Brake pads are being done ASAP.

Theft proof my backside lol It is a pain in the backside. I have to lean through from the rear door to open it. I will be taking the handle off the rear and putting it on the front this weekend hopefully. But this Escort was given to me as a kind of family airloom as it has been in the family since it was 1 years old so I feel I should restore her to her former glory.

But nothing beats my Omega.

I am even washing my Omega a 0.40am so it is ready for the morning.

I have sold my caravan today which is now somewhere in Lancashire or on its way to Lancashire so whatever tantrum my Omega throws at me tomorrow MOT time as long as it doesn't go over £100 in parts I will be ok.

But I am the most annoying person in the last week leading up to my MOT lol.

My Omega is going in for its MOT on Saturday 23rd July, My friends and I have checked everything to the best of our ability and just a couple things are slightly worrying me for the MOT test, but fingers crossed I will be leaving the Garage with a New MOT. However I have got my other toy that I love as a back up motor if I need it. And that is my Ford Escort.

As it turns out, there is a design fault on the AKS 1300 and AL-KO will send out a new Ratchet Handle and the other little bits to fit it. In theory its free as it is an issue they advertised about. I have emailed them and am waiting to here back. So will have a new handle soon in theory. But if not I will buy a 2nd hand caravan hitch and fit it for now to use. Unless the trick in this link works http://www.eribaforum.co.uk/eriba%20amiga/pdf/Alko_ratchetjam.pdf

You still haven't answered my question? What is missing?

428
Just looked at 2 identical hitches on Ebay and there is no difference between them and mine! Apart from they are not as tatty! So have no idea what you are on about. I am beginning to wonder if you know what you are on about!

I found this hitch on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=110700374703

Same as mine and can't see the difference!

As for it not being safe I know that is rubbish as it used to hook on the tow bar and be solid and secure.

So if you can enlighten me. I am prepared to listen.

429
What is missing on it? I have had this caravan with the hitch in the picture fitted to my current caravan at a caravan specialist who never said anything about it.

That pic was taken when it was fitted to my old caravan which I towed for about a year with no problems.

430
I just had a search through my computer and found a photo of the hitch I took before I took it off my old caravan and fitted it to my current caravan.

This is the hitch I have got:

431
luckily it is not stuck on the car. I can't get it to hitch up to the car anymore. I will take a photo of the hitch tomorrow. But as you face the front of the caravan the handle the you push down once hitched to the car is on the right hand side. It is quite old and has lost most of its red paint lol.

432
There is only one thing sticking out on one side of the head that looks adjustable. I will fiddle with it later. But if I can't get this sorted I am stuffed as it means I can't move the caravan! :'(

433
How do I do that?

434
I have a caravan with a hitch that has the built in anti snaking technology. It hitched onto my car perfectly 3 weeks ago. And now all olf a sudden it wont hitch up to anything as the gap from the sides is too small on the hitch itself. What could be causing this fault?
