Hiya mateys
just had a  fright, i bought a laptop, just been in garage, connected up, into diagnostics (im excited)
run the read bit, and guess what

it came up found stored error codes!
55 Does not exist
Airbag electronic control unit (ecu) Replace ecu

OH MY GOD WHAT NOW i thought
anyways erased codes and hey presto  
i got new lappy and new car he he heeeeeeeeee
happy as larry

its the opel one dave ive downloaded 3 of but theyre all the same .
Not sure where youre going with this but as i said it has put the light out.

Just keep in mind you need a laptop with 'proper' serial port - very rare now days..

Or you could try a cheapo Tech-II with USB connector instead of RS232 - I've seen them on eBay but I don't think anyone here actually got one tested.

I believe those which are usb just have a usb2serial adapter built in, with the hassles that provides... (precise serial control is not easy through an adapter)
