Also primacy last for ever ime. 30k not unusual, but very expensive, noisy and very poor grip. But not that poor given their mileage.

Any recommendations for a quiet tyre with decent-ish grip?
When I bought my current Omega in Dec. `09 previous owner had these fitted in the Sept. I`ve done about 12K since, about 4-5mm tread left. No tramlining, decent grip, near zero roadnoise. "W" rated. As said, budget tyre but ticks the boxes for me as I don`t need to leave rubber behind me to know where I`ve just come from ;D

Cheers, can't get them in 235/45/17 though  :(

kumhos and hankook s2 are ok both for comfort and price.. however their perfomance  slightly less than top spec tires (conti and bridgestone)..but if you wont hammer under rain you wont feel..

I must note that if only comfort and noise was my priority and price and tire life is not a big concern I would buy michelin primacy hp.. very soft and silent tire.. but not long lasting and expensive..and also structure not that robust like conti and bridgestone

and if you are going to buy expensive tires either conti sc5 or bridgestone potenza s001.

micheline ps3 is also a good tire but tire life relatively short and not very good in colder climates..

I thought Primacy had really good wear rates?  :-/

on our roads if you can get over 15K miles either you are driving like grandma or you are exceptionally lucky.. you drop the car in few potholes and you have baloons everywhere ;D

Don't rate potenza 001 that highly tbh. For the wear rate I expected more grip. Sc3 superior on both criteria.

good tyre I suppose but better available.

the wear rates for potenza not that slow.. I start to think that temperature differences cause the same tire to show different characters between UK and my country :-/

So 36k from my Falkens would be classed as quite good then in Spain?  :D

Bike Tyre manufacturers allow for that, so for example, dont buy a tyre in Spain and expect it to work here in the uk. Because it just won't get warm enough to work.

Don't know but I would think car tyre makers would be similar???  :-/

Found the potenza 001 very noisy as well. Although sc3 not exactly quiet to be fair.

Weds reported tram lining issues with p zero on 235 45 18. Not heard of another report on them for omega. They seem popular on small front wheel drive cars like fiesta. No other info other than that tbh.

I would think ku31 would be ok for the Tunster? Although are there supply issues?
