« on: 01 May 2012, 21:21:09 »

Im looking i think at the side light bulbs which look yellow ish when switched on , compared to the bulls eye ones which are blue e white . Any idea what i should replace them with to get a similar effect as the bulls eye ones . Are these bulls eye ones im referring to called projector lights  :-\

You can`t compare sidelight bulbs whether LED or otherwise to the output of a HID bulb ::)

I have changed mine for the 6LED type they look much better
I have also changed the puddle/door lights and rear number plate and interior lights for LED as I prefer the light colour plus if you have the doors open there is hardly any drain on the battery with the LED  :y

Just to give everyone a heads up be really careful what colour LED you put in your sidelights and numberplate lights as mine failed on being an incorrect colour :o :-\

i had some cheapy quite brights white with slight blue tinge i've now replaced with just white LEDs but stronger and it Passed so..

Another thing for MOT'rs to fail on... YAY

P.S Sorry to all you good MOT'rs

new regs been brought in this jan 2012, are non standard aftermarket led lights fitted into external lights on vehical will bring an instant fail to mot, but hasnt fully come into force as yet... so kind of a grey area, mot & police discresion... so some mot stations will fail it others pass, some police jump on you £30 fine, others ignore you...

...but to be honest a police traffic cop friend says they would rather people have fully functioning lights led or filliment as long as they are in pairs,  dont dazzle other road users, work correctly (led indicators flashing like hell) & correct colour i.e NOT BLUE GREEN PURPLE RED etc than people not caring with a unit not working i.e (blown bulbs)

But if not E marked & state off road use only you run the risk at a fine sometime or mot fail...

I assume you had main beam on for the 1st photo as well? If not, you need to sort those lights out before you cause an accident ;) Could just be a poor picture but they look dazzling to me :-\
