Fitted the new bumper yesterday (after the snow had finally dispersed!)

Old (and very scuffed bumper)



In process of fitting new bumper, I have to say it was one of the easiest jobs I've ever done on a car (bless you Vauxhall for making it simple)



Fitted, next job......bonnet respray  ;)

Bit of an update, finally got the Elite wheels back from the painters. Had two of the original tyres fitted, two new ones fitted this weekend.

Really pleased with the finish, also added a little logo in vinyl to one of the spokes....just to be different.

I sprayed up the first wheel, topcoat and lacquered it and let it dry. nibbed it back and polished but just couldn't get it up to the mirror finish I wanted (knew I wouldn't with just cellulose rattle cans but challenged myself to do it), plus it'd just sink in time anyway, so I got them up to prep stage and gave them to my mate who sprayed them with 2-pack and baked them to get a brilliant finish on them.

Had to admit defeat on that one  :-[

Ah, fair enough. I haven't got round to mine with the weather the way it is but I think I'll just be prepping as well, and leave the finishing to an expert  :P

I think it's all about the paint used, I've done 'touch up' spraying on a car in the past and it's forever sinking, even a week or so after polishing. Prepping counts for a lot but you just can't get a lasting finish with rattle cans the same as you can when done by a pro.  :y

(and yes, the weather needs to be right too, way to damp in the air at the moment to do anything outside)
