You have elevated that car to a new level of clean. Best of luck with it.

I have to say, it does give you incentive to do your own, but I am not well knowlegeable in the clay/detail/polishing department :(
Its the bits like tar on wheel arches etc that I never think of doing, but I shall now :y
I think Mark, you may shake a few of us up now ;D :y

I commend you on a fantastic job :y

Thanks terbert, it is a tedious job and one that took me four solid days to do (2 from the weekend and 2 (holi)days from work). But this car (although clean) was in need of a good going over. Things like the tar spots, tidemarks around window rubbers, green algae type stuff, dirty/greasy door shuts are probably OTT things to bother with, but you only really have to concentrate on these things every two, three maybe four years as this dirt takes that long to build up. All I did was clean most likely 12 year's worth of grime. I'll keep on top of it now by washing the car every week/two weeks, and polishing it every month/two months. It may be an old car now, but I'd still like it to look like new  :y

Neither was I until earlier this year, did a bit of reading up on the subject (Detailing World website) and took it from there. It's very satisfying, and if you think what I've done is thorough you should see some of the work the guys do on DW.....talk about obsessive.... :o

Had my ipod/headphones on for all four days, shut the rest of the world (well, the rest of the garage) out. Must've gone through all 900 tracks on there too!!!  ;D

Thanks pal. Just looking at the link now  :y

Got some more detailing to do at the weekend (if the weather allows me to!!)...got some pretty snazzy (but hopefully not too tacky) work to do with some graphics/vinyl.

Bought a second hand bumper I need to prep for paint, the one on the car at the moment has some bad scuffs on it put there by the previous owner so I've bought one to get painted then I can do a straight swap once it's done.

Also want to remove the throttle body and clean it/replace gasket and inspect my breather pipes as I had it tech2'd on tuesday and it threw up that error code, also threw up a problem with the MAF sensor too so I need to replace that as I can see that it's an aftermarket one, I'll replace it with a genuine Vx one.

Oh, I need to fit the clear side repeaters as well so a busy weekend ahead....watch this space....as I'll be filling it with photos of the work.  :y
