:) hi mate. What do u use to clean your engine.?    I've just had rocker gasget an plug change so need to have a clean up!!

I didn't want to go down the route of expensive products like the ones the pro detailers use.....so good old fashioned White Spirit was used, it degrease's the bay brilliantly. Alternatively you could use paraffin as it also acts as a degreaser and leaves a waxy residue behind which repels water and gives a slight sheen to the hosework.

Finally I used Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber cleaner to dress the hoses, pipes, plastic airbox/fuseboxes, scuttle etc...

I think baby oil as a dressing has been suggested on a thread somewhere here. It gives a deep shines to rubber/plastic....smells nice too  ;)  :y

It doesn't look like this at the moment mate. One trip to work down the motorway in this weather and it's ditched again!!  ::)

:y brilliant job mate ..

Thanks Kevin.  :y

Well, finally fitted the clear indicators today after a wash and polish of the meega.

Removing grotty original orange ones.

12 years of dirt, nice....

May as well give it a clean behind here, it'd be rude not to.

New lens fitted...

Swish...

Flashy  ;)

It's me who uses Baby Oil for the dressing of engine bay - Friendly to plastic and rubber and genuinely lasts forever.  And it's cheap!

Hey guys and gals.

A little more progress on the Meega, picked up a set of Elite alloys today. Condition pretty good (although you can tell which ones were fitted to the front....scuffed and black with brake dust  :-\) no cracks or buckles, though a couple of them will need new tyres. I'll be refurbishing them before I fit them.

All four wheels for £80 so I'm quite happy at that.  :y

Photos: (had a go at cleaning one to see how it scrubbed up)

Before.

After.

Cheers chap. Still need to do a refurb on the wheels to get them looking spot on, just need to decide whether to DIY or get them done professionally (my wallet will decide the outcome  ;D)
