Maybe get to see it in the flesh tomorrow (so to speak), although depending on the amount of  [smiley=beer.gif] it might look like that anyway!  ;D

So, has anybody spotted the obvious problem with LEDs and the climate panel.......

...they don't light the switches as the light from a LED is emitted at a 30-40Deg angel (and thats a good one!) and the switches require the light to be emitted from the side (i.e. a filament) into a light pipe.

I really like the look they give, specially in that colour. Only problem is they're too bright. If you'd known about that would happen, I guess you could have soldered resistors to each LED before fitting them! Not that you could have forseen these things.

If they didn't have resistors they would have gone pop ages ago.....Blue LED's have a forward voltage of 3V and current of about 20-30mA.....Reds are about 1.8V with 20mA forward current....at 12V both types would have many amps passing through them for a VERY short period of time.

I am surprised that the light dimmer function on the headlight switch does nothing to the brightness of them

They do look good, having now seen them, although the light switch panel is a bit too bright.

Personally, I dislike anything with blue LEDs.

However, these didn't look too bad at all, though blindingly bright at night :(

Could you not wire in a bigger dimmer switch, should be room to hide it somewhere, they tend to be set and forget (until you nudge em anyway)

Hello, I have a quick question, I fitted blue led's to my mid display and climate control but during the day I couldn't see anything on the display so my question is can you see your digital display's during the day.
Cheers Jim

looks cool pete.

I wouldnt enjoy driving with those blairing into my eyeballs though...

Its bad enought that they have those ultra bright led tail lights and HID headlights all over the road to blind your ass when your driving at night.

I acutaly turn the indash lights all the way down most of the time... it lets me focus on the road more.
