Hi Kack

Daft question time.

Living in Northern Ireland why doesnt your car have Irish plates, yours look like standard UK plates.

Annother member, V6drift I believe is modifying his Miggy with loads of ICE, will be interesting to see how that developes as well.

Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom thus the vehicle is displaying the correct plates - whether registered there or (originally) here on the mainland.

Registration numbers issued by the DVL (NI) in recent times will have a combination of three letters and up to four figures.

Vehicles registered in the Republic Of Ireland have a totally different style of plate and letter/number combination.

Didn't they used to be white letters on a red background, & have a Z somewhere in it? .....  :-/ :-/

If memory serves Andy it's black characters on a white backround where the vehicle year of registration is placed first (two digits) then the registration area (two letters) followed lastly by three letters.

The letter Z does indeed figure quite a lot in their registration process.

Yep the red background was the older style.

I was incorrect however regarding the final part of the new plates, rather than the three letters I mentioned this element actually is composed of five digits.

HI all and as for the reg on the car when bought it had a uk w reg and was then re reg'd to the NI IHZ8**7 we then bought the older M reg 888 Plate as it was the vaux 888 number, and the other member is correct as NI is stil part of the UK we can run their plates or our own, as for the Z in the reg most of the new car's now have reg's featuring the Z in them we are now at MHZ*123 which we have on the new MV6 estate for my winter run about, and just as well as i was ploughing the ditches yesterday as i lost it on a bend and did a few turns in it, and missed anything important, just need wheels checked so very lucky, and lucky not Black Beauty

HI and thanks for the comments, they are 18 inch alloys and it is lowered with a set of Irmscher shocks and springs, not sure what they are supposed to drop it but it has a lot of stereo weighing in the boot too
