And So It Starts
« on: 24 April 2010, 20:09:42 »

Today, I are have mostly been starting my truck project today, with lots of bits being removed from the Elite Estate AKA Marvin.
Pile of bits - most of which no longer required.

Box of Bose bits

Half a headlining left!

Few more bits off tomorrow then out comes the cutting disc.............

Nowt to do wi'me Andy.
Our lass called it Marvin cos to her, it had the brain the size of planet, and here it is, driving from one side of York to the other every day..........

When it became too unreliable for her, she said - "Do what you want with it."
I said "Truck it", she said "Go on then!"

So here we are! ;)

Of course I recognise the car - you use it for your Avatar on ABS surely?

Wow, there's a car and a half - and what a colour!
Bring it to Billing , please!

Who did the seats?

......oh, and looking forward to see more of the 'Truck'

thanks for the kind words on the Carlton, yes it be at Billing (MOT next week permitting) and I re-trimmed the seats myself and no, I won't do any more.

So, back to the EliTruck, Ometruck, Truckega - call what you like!
Today I've measured up, hummed and harred, and come up with some cut lines.
the smal rear door windows (are the plastic like a Carlton?) will be used behind the B pillar. Main reason is so it the front seats can travel the full length rearwards, and if some recline of the seats is required, it can be done.

I'm using some of the tailgate frame, for strength and also to utilise the rear hatch with it's window - for three reasons.
First, saves faffing about trying to find or make another window fit, making a frame, etc.

Second, use what there is makes sound sense because then the interior trim can be used more efficiently.

Third, it should look kinda standard.

Gonna contemplate until getting the cutting disc out, and Tuesday/Wednesday nights should see it chopped up - the Carlton's off Monday night and I'd rather cut the omega inside in case of rain.

Anyone able to photoshop it from the pics? Feel free to have a go -I can't do that sort of thing! :-[

Anyway could all go the way of the pear, yet!
