Lose that rear wing from the Carlton and I'd be staking out your house trying to figure out where you put the car keys  ;D

I did think that was a Calibra boot spoiler but couldn't be 100%. Quite rare now.

Always liked the Courtney Calibra with the modded kit.

Not a great deal of strength taken out to be honest - only the one crossmember removed (top of tailgate frame) and that's being put back.
I was going to tack-weld the rear doors in place, but had this gut feeling it wasn't necessary.
After removing the roof and tailgate frame, the rear door shut gaps were exactly the same (3.5 - 4mm) as before I'd started cutting.

Saying that, the lateral strength does need putting back - I certainly wouldn't drive it like it is!

The weirdest thing was not cutting the shell - no going back, I guess - but cutting the sunroof cartridge, which was the last thing to cut.
I dunno, it just felt kinda wrong! :-/
Bit late now though! ;)

Anyhow, the REAL work starts later today!

You are a brave man to tackle this. Fair play to you. I work in the engineering department of a well known car factory and when a soft top version of car is developed the inner sills require extra strength.
You obviously know your stuff so I wish you all the best on this project. :y
