Facelift keys, all 3 buttons burst
« on: 01 March 2008, 17:15:27 »

Hi,

Both keys I got with my Omega are burst (i.e. the rubber coating has worn through) which makes it difficult to operate them properly. Anyone know where to get new ones? Its the type with the boot opening button on it

Cheers,
Iain

Which will need programming.

If its just the switches, a member on here, Martin Imber, is doing a switch replacement...

If it is the switches I am pretty handy with a soldering iron - too much making AV leads years ago and too many etched brass kits.

Yes, Immobiliser PIN needed to program remote fobs.

Can you dismantle the new keys and replace the outer casing and retain your own internals, thereby removing the need to reprogram?

Not sure how old your car is Arrol but certainly on most of the newer keys the answer is YES. They can be dismantled and put into a fresh 'casing'. Consult that friendly online auction house  :y
