Electric window problem
« on: 25 October 2015, 16:03:22 »

So windows dosen't work but if i touch the circuitboard of the main switch it comes to life. Remove finger from board all dead again. Lighting works normal. Ground issue? Where to look?

It's the second Omega with the same fault...

Sounds like a broken track on the board... should be fixable if you're capable at soldering :-\

I had the same thing.....take it out and take it apart an inspect the electrical board....look very carefully at the silver track on the board...on mine at first i did not notice it but then on very close inspection a very small part,,,about an half inch of track was broken......

Changed the main switch, still the same. Plus noticed the pas.side switch illuminated all the time.

Thoughts? :(

If it works when you apply pressure then it can only be a broken track... Fix that and see what issues remain :y

I don't need to apply pressure just put finger against it. And i have replaced a new switch, used but tested and good, with no cure. That is a bit strange that the problem remaines.

But i will get my "new" Omega :D tomorrow so will swap the switches to test once more and if needed check the tracks.

I will report back the results.

So now that my radio "drama" is sorted I can report back on the window probleem. Took the third switch out of my latest miggy and it does not work. Tested the old switch in my latest omega and it works as is the second replacement switch. So i think we can rule out a broken track on the switch.
What would be the next step? New harness? Anyone has the part number for new one because harness from breakers is a bit of gamble i think...

Having issues with passenger window switch works from drivers side but won't work with passenger side switch tried  new loom still the same, got a drivers side switch coming tomorrow I hope, as apparently it may not be closing the circuit completely in turn not allowing the passenger switch to work

Rather than frig around randomly changing parts, get a meter out and PROVE the fault ;)

Trace the wires from the switch to the motor and test them all for continuity.

Are we talking front door or rear? If rear, is the safety switch showing green or red?

Either way, if the switch on the drivers door moves the window then the door and motor are receiving power, which limits the problem to the loom between passenger switch and motor :y

There's a white wire which feeds the passenger door switches from the drivers switch...

It exits the drivers switch at Pin 29.
Leaves the drivers door at Pin 31.
Enters passenger door at Pin 31.
Enters passenger switch at Pin 4.

Also to check...
GreyGreen wire between switch Pin 2 and motor Pin 2.
BlueRed wire between switch Pin 1 and motor Pin 3.

Door switch Pin 4 GreyYellow and Pin 5 Brown are only for switch illumination.

If the drivers switch doesn't operate the passenger window and the switch doesn't illuminate, then you probably have a break in the brown wire at Pin 1 on the door loom. This goes to the grounding point just above the passenger kick panel... the break most likely being inside the rubber hose between the door plug and the Apost :y

The blue and red and grey and green are likely to be where a fault is as the window opens from drivers side also everything else on the door works and switch does light light up the two wires spit to the motor and switch
