That happened to me at the end of last month, before returning home from Dorset. The wise people on here told me to do the Pedal Trick to get a code as it might simply be an emission problem.
The code confirmed it - inefficient catalyser - and the recommendation was to ignore it until I got home; it was running fine.
Back home, dose of Cataclean, tankfull of lovely Shell V-Power and an Italian Tune-up and.....no light!
What an easy repair.  :) :y 8)

Oh, just a thought - could you have overfilled the sump with your oil change and you were burning it off, hence the EML?

Get it on a code reader, sometimes catching these sort of oddities early might prevent the inconvenience of a breakdown.

the trouble I find with putting it on a code reader local to me is, I more than likely be non the wiser. there is a good lad in wakefield that I know is knowledgeable an hour away.

Have yo tried the Pedal Trick?

Below are the codes for the Y26SE and Y32SE ECU's (Motronic ME3.11) as used on the 3.2 and 2.6 V6 petrol engines.

Note, many have the codes have multiple causes the details of which will only be displayed on a quality scan tool.

It's a DTi, pedal trick won't work and codes above not valid. The oil filter housing is close to some of the vac pipes and the 90degree rubber elbows are known to deteriorate - could have been disturbed which generally give a P0400 code. As said, needs the codes reading.

You should be able to buy a generic code reader for the same cost as one trip to a garage.

Finding a code reader that can talk to Diesels is more problematic than finding one that works with petrol engines so you do need to do some homework first.....
