General Car Chat / and its a goodbye from me.
« on: 07 April 2016, 21:56:20 »
Miggy sold today and will be my last one.. apart from a 6 month period in 2004 when i had a V6 Vectra the omega has been the only car ive owned sibce 2002 ..  I will miss it but fancied a change..  call it a mid life thing... i would like to thank those people that have helped me with the issues ive had ove the years namely elite pete and jimbob.. and those people i never met but posted advice to me..
I do have a good pair of elite rear shocks in my shed i initially thought where past their best but i was mistaken as theres 2009 year stickers on them.. happy to let them go to an OOF member for a reasonable price (£50?) Plus postage whatever thats gonna cost...

As per title.. its a 2000 Auto on a W plate  its on 64k and is in burgundy in colour... work done in my ownership os the following.. Bosch coil pack , leads and plugs ( fitted by elite pete) rear shocks springs discks and pads ( rear self leveling shocks taken off beliving they where knackered but are not and are still available) exhaust from cats back. Discs and pads on front thermostat and transfer pipe. Aircon regas. 4 tyres ( front two only  3 weeks old on Maxxis) timing belt changed on 53k by elite pete 10 months before i bought it. Ive given it 4 oil and fulter changes in the 10k ive done in it.. loads of bills and receipts for original owner. .. everyrhing apart from the rear blind works ( it does sometimes but only when it feels like it)... bad point is one rear arch needs seeing to.. all the metal is there and solid so no welding needed.. just the paintwork. And a small scuff on front corner of bumper... im asking for £500 for it... im bound to have forgotton something so please ask away..
Regards
 Keith..

General Car Chat / leak following thermostat change
« on: 29 February 2016, 13:03:07 »
As title says i have a leak following thermostat change although now leaking at the rear.. however after following the 'how to" guide i moved the power steering bottle out the way for better access to the b*****d bolt and i now have fluid dripping from underaide of bellhousing.. fluid looks same colour as coolant.. so have i nipped a power steering pipe or sods law have i now got a other coolant leak?

General Car Chat / well f**k me sideways
« on: 14 February 2016, 09:10:35 »
I believe ive just changed my rear shocks for no reason at all... the clonking and knocking ive been hearing at the rear suspension turns out i was missing the 2 steel tubes in the top shock rubber mount. So the shocks where flooping about like a dick in a bucket. The ones i took off are the self levelers too :-[

Omega General Help / self leveling shocks
« on: 11 February 2016, 07:12:02 »
Are going to be replaced with standard shocks. So question is which fuse or relay do i need to pull out ( providing they dont operate other functions) or what else do i need to do to disconect the leveling pump.. also one last thing. Am i better using GM shocks to replace them or other makes?

If the cloth strip around the glass is no more than a draft excluder (as it surely cant be water tight?) And the drain holes are clear why am i getting a wet head and arse? ..

Omega General Help / whats that " beeping"
« on: 07 October 2015, 04:38:01 »
I hear when I take my key out? 4 or 5 beeps in quick succession before I've even got out the car and locked it.. Impossible to describe the pitch of the noise in words but sounds like a bird chirping I spose....
