Strange self levelling sensor wiring ?
« on: 01 June 2013, 16:33:36 »

My levelling sensor arm is broken and I am planning to replace it with "compressor on" and "air out" push buttons but sensor wiring is different from Haynes etc diagrams

it have 8 wires colored : red, white/red, blue , white/green, black , white/blue, white/black, and green

if Haynes diagram is right i just need to earth wire from relay's K19 coil to start compressor

and earth one wire to open air vent but which are the right wires ?

red is in Haynes diagram A and black H  so wires i need could be C-blue and D- white/green ?
but in all diagrams sensor uses only 7 wires I have 8 ?, so is wiring complete different and why totally different colors are used ?

That sounds like an awful lot of messing about when a replacement sensor is a few minutes work. And will make the system operate correctly, rather than you have to monitor it.
It would be a a bit like having a manually controlled electric fan rather than a much more sensible thermostat controlled one.

This is electronic sensor and new is expensive , and used is htf and because it is under the car
it will fail soon again...

I had manual tyre ventil system in my erarlier Omega and I never had problem with it if I wanted lift rear up I just added air and for lowering just let some air out . And it was fooll proof because no parts to broken. So i won't miss/need self levelling.

Will it?  ??? Mine's 13 yrs old & stil works  ;) ;)

Just replace like for like .... far better & easier to have a fully auto self levelling system.  :y
