Intermitent alarm issue
« on: 21 August 2010, 14:50:16 »

Hi all,

For the last few months, when I start the car (starts easily and loads of battery charge), the alarm will sound for about 30 seconds or so. This happens around 1 in 10 starts.

Two days ago I noticed just before i was about to remove my keys from the ignition, a whining sound, as if I had left the lights on.. but much quieter. This also occurs when I start to turn the ignition.

Also two days ago the alarm has started to sound at random, whether locked or unlocked, hot or cold. (lat time was 3am this morning... I was thrilled, as were the neighbours!)

Any ideas?

Omega V6 2.5 Estate on 02 plate.

Cheers,

Neal.

Sounds like the Power Sounder internal Battery's are on their way out, disconnect the PS or replace the battery's, most on here will say disconnect and throw it in the bin.

Thank you for the very fast reply... had a quick look in the maintenance section and found a guide to disconnecting it... just have to fine some tools now!
