« on: 25 February 2007, 22:01:02 »
Hi peps,
After fixing ma headlights and generally messing around with the electrical system, Imagine ma delight to find ma juke box in safe mode ! Pls control yersel - laughing too much hurts !

Does any one know a way of sorting it ?????

Perhaps maybe a replacement HU that would still allow the display on the dash to function !!!
OOOOH by the way, money at the moment is to tight to mention, so value for money has got to be the order of the day.

Omega General Help / Quik Quiz !
« on: 06 May 2009, 22:18:24 »
Hi,

Being the lazy Sod that I am - I know someone here can answer my question !

While trying to order a new Cam Belt and tensioner for my tractor I came across various listings online and could not for the life of me remember what the engine code was to order the parts,

My Miggy was born in the year 1997 with the BMW 2.5TD Heart,

My question is does anybody know what this engine code would be for ordering parts ???

Bonus points for anyone who can suggest a reasonable site for ordering a new starter motor for her !

 :-?

Omega General Help / Could it be the water pump ?????
« on: 10 August 2007, 17:58:21 »
Ok Read this and tell me I'm wrong !!! The engine is the "bullet proof" 2-5td BMW unit that has performed perfectly even though most of the miles I have covered thus far have been side ways or over the legal limit I think, but wouldn't recommend to law following citizens, so in short the dog does hunt !!
After a recent qwik trip to Sunny Aberdeen the COOLENT LEVEL warning was displayed on the way home, (nothing new there eh ?) around 10 mins later the temp shot up and I nursed the car to the garage refilled the header bottle which took very little water ? and made my way home.
Checking the car over the next day I found that the oil and water were in the places they should be but still after running for an hour or so the car began to over heat again !
I cut the centre out of the thermostat which made no difference even though it wasn't opening fully when it was tested !
The fan is viscous and turns as it should !
Suggestions so far have included air locks, a cracked head that is letting exhaust gases into the water system and a knackered engine.
Admittedly when you pull the overflow pipe from the header tank and hold the revs steady - water will fire out the bottle ? It does suggest that the pump is doing something but I fear not enough ?
Any suggestions and how to fix are welcome along with possible suppliers of said parts !

Omega General Help / Please Help with ma Headlights
« on: 23 February 2007, 16:11:59 »
Hello again Hello ! Just thought I'd let you know !
My Xenon Bulbs don't work right, one is oot ! awh shoot !
Maybe I should have got that Beemer !
Instead a got this bulb at the dealership  -   it came with a free reamer !

Yeah I know don't give up the day job !

My green 97 2.5td has developed a puzzling problem ! The ns HID stopped working and after checking the fuses I was forced to give the nice man behind the counter (who should have been wearing a mask) £144 plus vat for a replacement bulb ! ooooch ! After carefully fitting it - ensuring that the bulb was not touched etc etc it made not one dam bit of difference. The usual lunch room know it all f all has suggested that it may be the driver unit ?????

Has anyone had any similar probs or experience of this ?? And what the hell and where is this driver unit ???

Please Help - Driving around with the side lights and fog lights is pissing me off not to mention any other drivers.

Newbie Welcome Area / Hello peps!
« on: 23 February 2007, 13:49:36 »
Yes ! Yes ! Yes as you will have gathered by now I'm a Newbie! With two left thumbs who doesn't have a clue what he's doing. Although I did manage to find this site and let me tell you the future does look :y
Please help if you can !
Just recently the ns headlight stopped working so the first port of call was the fuse's, which revealled nothing. The second was an expensive trip to the local Dealership for the purchase of a xenon bulb at yes ! Some of you will Know £144 + vat ! Ouch !!! And would you adam and eve it after three days wait for the bulb, a frantic 1Hr by torchlight last night I'm still blind in the one eye !!! I was very careful not to even shake the bulb as it was replaced let alone let anything touch it, at that price it does make you pay attention to what you are doing! Would love to hear any similar type of problems and how they were rectified or if you have any pointers etc ????
