Can anyone help me with my 2002 Omega 3.2 litre MV6?
Speedo has stopped and power steering is no longer speed sensitive, but ABS and traction control work and there are no warning lights. Vauxhall say the speed sensor is providing its normal output and their tech 2 diagnostic unit can communicate with the ABS ecu and says there is a No:- 21 trouble code - No vehicle speed signal - servotronic. They also say the speed output cable from ABS ecu to engine fails a continuity test. Their solution is to install a new wiring loom for the whole car at £600 plus 20 hours labour to install it, any alternative cheaper suggestions will be gratefully received.

i have exactly the same prob with my 98 omega, and ive even had the abs ecu re-conned

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / speedo and abs failure
« on: 14 July 2009, 10:03:50 »
hi all

few months ago my abs/tc lights came on, followed by the usual ps failure and speedofailure.

fitted a second hand ecu still had prob, turned out that was faulty, sent my orignal to reman for recon, fitted it, everything was hunky dory for a couple of hundred miles, then abs/tc came on speedo p/s failed.

swopped the rear abs sensors round not made any difference although ps seems ok.

any feedback would be appreciated

there is a drain on the n/s under the pollen filter which gets clogged with leaves, my advice remove pollen filter, remove muck which should be on a large rubber bung, poke a stick or jet wash as it is hard to reach, i've removed the bung on mine, doesn't really make much diff

Omega General Help / Re: Steering Geometry - any recommendations

Hi,
looking for any recommended garages that can cope with the Omega set-up.

Can either be Central Scotland up to Dundee, or North West down to Manchester/Liverpool, or North East to Durham.

I do lot of driving down/up to these area's so any would do.  :D :D :D

thanks

I would try a body shop, and ask them to do an optiflex, its more expensive than standard tracking, bout they will adjust all 4 wheel geometry. most reputable bodyshops will do  it and charge approx £60

Hi I have got an omega mv6 3.0 saloon pre-facelift and it has a bad vibration above 70mph that shakes the entire car and does not go away, I have had new wheels and tyres balanced and fitted, new discs and pads all round and this has not helped. I was wondering what else would cause this.
Any help would be appreciated.

almost certainly distorted rear tyres
