Ive got a couple of printers.....the one for printing photos is the equivalent of this one....

https://www.epson.co.uk/products/printers/inkjet-printers/photo/epson-stylus-photo-1500w

with an ink system like this one...

https://www.inkexpress.co.uk/continuous-ink-systems.html

All inkjets are going to be expensive to run. And Epsons are bloody hard to get to the ink tray.

For day to day stuff, including quick photos, I too use a colour laser, and use the proper laser photo paper when printing anything for presentations or photos.

If we need lots (Mrs TB's craft hobbies), or something bigger than A4, or something better quality than my el-cheapo laser can do, we use places like Costco.

Yep, it's an exercise in futility trying to keep a home printer in a state where it can print decent quality photos, IMHO. Plenty of online or high street places to choose from, and they work out cheaper for all but the heaviest usage.

I too despise Inkjet printers.
Colour laser for day to day stuff, kids school work etc, basic photos.

If I want quality, I use whatever printshop is offering the best for my needs.
