Additional electrickery.
« on: 17 September 2016, 21:01:58 »

Got this extra fused relay in the engine bay fusebox. Various wires attached. I have no idea what it is.  ???

Also have this lot behind the spare wheel. Possible towbar related ?

Not hugely important. I'm just curious.  :)

If the wiring in the rear quater goes to the lights then it will be full electrics for a carvan. Although you should still investigate  :y

When I had the merc I went snooping around the centre console trying to find a suitable route for an ipod and aux leads
I found a black and white twisted power lead going behind the passenger foot plate, so pulled back the carpet and unscrewed the SS footplate, I found and old motorolla tracker I removed it and had a play but it was well pased it use by date, whent through the history and the original owner bought it on finance

I found something similar in the n/s front footwell of my 190. Had no idea what it was so chopped through the wires and binned the lot.  ;D

Probably a switched live, so the 12s socket only powers with the key inserted

I really should do it to mine saves all sorts of problems. A short leads to a fire or a shock in my case

Front relay is the alternator feed for the caravan power supply.

Rest of gubbins is for the trailer light check control plus trailer socket loom  :y

I'd doubt the relay at the front was  :-\ Generally easier/cheaper to fit a voltage sensing relay fro caravan fridge/charging

It is/was :y have one here with instructions...

Switch supply connects to We/Rt wire on round plug next to battery, and grounds to inner wing, switched supply comes from battery and goes to trailer socket. Usually routed along nearside rear brake line, but can be routed through car along NS body loom...
