I'm thinking 🤔,, make a good manual conversionBet he'd let it go for £270
Does it run, if so I’ll give you 275 for it as long as I can drive it awayDidn’t want mine then?
(I can legally do so, to a place of repair)
Thanks for the replies. I think I shall go with the consensus and hold back for a while. I am hoping to respray the roof and bonnet in December, then fit the new windscreen surround. Then early in the new year, see about getting the valve stem seals done, and obviously whilst it’s stripped down, do the cam belt. James has given me a rough price for doing the aforementioned work. Car has only done 81, 000 miles, so I want to get it back on the road, mainly for local use.
On a slightly different topic, has anyone got their car on classic insurance, what are the limitations, and the cost.
Hello Lizzie talking about old people I have recently had my cills welded and a rear brake rebuilt.Ok the welding I could not do but a brake rebuild I would have enjoyed doing but now it is easier to farm it out but I always wonder if the job has been done as well as I would like.At 87 I could be the oldest member of our club. Get it fixed and avoid the stress.
had no idea you were that age.
Might be air, the VW common rails are a bit shitty for this as they do not self prime and if actually ran out need a bit of work to get them running (usually cranking and popping the return pipe off the filter). The filter housings are easy to crack when changing the filters also.
That said, it could also be a crank sensor showing no output, you will just have to run it and see what happens
