Its had a 2hr wash this afternoon, excluding the interior!  The Previous Owner admitted it hadnt been cleaned for around 2yrs and lived under a tree..
Took it for a 5 mile test drive today and zero issue with overheating... however the gearbox isnt good at all, loses drive every so often and you can smell burning from under the car - think its getting too hot and burning out the clutches. So 1st job is drop the gearbox sump at the weekend, new filter and fluids are waiting in the boot - fingers crossed that solves the problem.

Currently on its way from Derby to my place in Lancashire on a transporter:

Its a bit of a gamble - car nearly overheated a month ago and had lost most of its coolant - previous owner topped it up and its ran fine ever since...  Gearbox is slipping slightly and drops in and out of gears when cold. Its also filthy and not been serviced properly for a couple of years...  Im going to attempt cooling repair and service the box - if its terminal then will break the car.

The good news is that it has a comprehensive Vauxhall History - 90K mileage and MOT until the end of the year.  Everything works bar the n/s front central lock & 2 Bose speakers are down.

Im hoping its not Head Gasket failure and only 3 way valve or Oil Cooler/ Rad.  All work will be done by myself on a budget of £250 on top of what i paid for the car. It drives lovely and should clean up well.

Paid £150 for it including brand new cambelt/ DVD + Gearbox Oil & Filter + Spare Alloys/ Roof bars and loads of other parts.

Cheers, Matt
