« on: 05 July 2009, 00:40:04 »

Can anyone advise me where to look as my blower fan on my 3.0 elite only works on auto or full ,when i turn the fan down to 1 to 7 nothing works ,i can't hear the fan at all ,however on auto [full] it works fine, this is the electronic type , and it does not matter what temp you have it set at, also air con only works on full or nothing ,anyone have any ideas where to look, thanks --JK

check speed controller, bolted to fan (behind glovebox).

Has the scuttle drain got blocked?

That normally the problem. You can repair these sometimes. The thermistor blows, buy a new one of the same value and replace it (pence from Maplins). You'll need a soldering iron. If the coil is black or has a chunk missing, it's a replacement I am affraid. Think it was about £30 from VX last time I did one.

Also worth check the pollen filter for signs of water, I've seen the filter cover fitted badly before and it lead to a lot of water getting in as well as blowing this.

Mine did this & it was the speed controller behind the glove box.
Got a second hand one for £10.
Best to remove glove box completely so you can see what your doing though.
