General Discussion Area / No wonder my council tax has hiked
« on: 15 March 2020, 16:16:13 »
Due to the HS2 white elephant, the local parish council has spent the last 3 months fencing off all green areas to stop the thieving, disgusting "traveller community" who will be doing all the work.

Clearly the parish is expecting pikeys to become a significant issue. So when the brainwashed come out and say the construction will pump loads of money into the economy, you know its all 'dangle berries'.

So not only are we all putting in thousands to build (and more thousands each annually to run it) this pointlessness, our parish - and I imagine several others along the route - will get hiked council taxes.

Great. Pillocks. Well, corrupt pillocks.

self-abusers. But I suspect everyone already knew that.

Paid extra for Saturday delivery, because I needed an item for tomorrow. Waited in all day, and kept an eye on their website, counting down the number of deliveries before me.  I saw it get to 2 to go, then a plain white Sprinter type van pulls outside.  So I open the front door and wait, listening to the driver in the back of the van throwing stuff around and swearing, before speeding off.

A few seconds later I got a email saying they had left a card.

I guess they have lost or nicked it.What a bunch of wet dreams.

So now I'm going to have the hassle of getting a refund for the item, when I don't even have it. *sigh*

...now I accept that some cretins insist of waking me at midnight on New Years Eve with their pathetic little poppers.

But WTF are the cretins setting them off now?  That will be more shit to clean off the cars in the morning, plus its stressing one of the cats :(

Its nearly Christmas, so as normal, the dishwasher has decided to get grumpy, and pop the RCD on cycles that need to heat water.

So, do I order a heater, and wait for it to arrive in a few days, then fit.  Or just buy a bloody new one for delivery on Thurs.  Cant remember how old this one is TBH, probably 3 or 4 years...

I am making an assumption it is the heater, suppose it could be the wash motor or the redirector motor thing breaking down with heat I suppose  :-\

Mrs TB looking at it. The only one she buys in a year.

Her verdict is there is nothing but shite on.  So looks like Amazon Prime and Netflix will be renewed for another month ;D

She was using her laptop last night, and suddenly loads of magic smoke started escaping.

*Sigh*, I expect she'll be wanting a new one now.  For now, she's using the MacBook, but better not let her use if for too long as she finds it (rightly) frustrating, and I will be needing a dustpan and brush.

I have absolutely no idea why one of my brothers sent me this picture of what looks like a Zafira, but I thought it would make a great caption contest :)

To buy a 24-27" 1080p Smart LED TV for sensible money (ie, sub approx. £150).

Thinking it would be trivial, as I have bought such items with ease previously, I ripped out the old 17" analogue LCD TV and its digibox last week.

Today, I have refitted it all ;D
