Armed Forces - Haven't used that Harrier this week, I see? Let's throw it in the bin to save money!
Prisons - New PlayStations for all! These poor people came from broken homes... Their parents never loved them...they were victims of circumstances... these poor felons need rehabilitating, I mean, I ask you, what has a Police Officer, Firefighter, Nurse, Railwayman, Volunteer Carer, Librarian, Coal Miner, Steelworker, Soldier, Sailor or Airman
ever done for
this country?
Again, I applaud the kind nature of the Police for seeing the truth of the simple plight of this elderly couple. God knows how many hours a week your average copper would have free for such duties if someone up top said 'sod this paperwork, it's all red tape. New rule - get the bare minimum done, then get outside, and go and do good. Have a natter with kids on bikes, let them sit in you car and fire up the sirens, ask that bumbling old duffer who turns out was a Hurricane Pilot, Chat to that homeless guy who's an ex-guardsman' I don't blame coppers, I blame the system they/we are bound by.
