Door lock problems
« on: 25 January 2019, 14:31:37 »

Having put a new second hand lock drivers side front in a little while ago I have problems again. When I first fitted the lock when I unlocked the door with the remote the lock opened and immediately shut after a few tries it cured itself. Now it is happening again and I have to unlock with the key this time after several tries  with the remote it continues to lock itself Any ideas :y

That's normal behaviour because the car believes that it is being broken in to if you lock with the remote and unlock with the key...

Car unlocked, start the engine. Then switch off.
Withdraw the key.
Get out, and shut the door.
Lock with the key.
Wait 15 minutes.
Unlock with key.

Then only lock/unlock with the key.

It is covered in the manual, but basically however you lock the car is how you should unlock it ;)

Replace/overhaul the lock motor to stop it 'bouncing'  :y
