Washer fluid leak?
« on: 05 March 2017, 18:15:48 »

Noticed a pool of water under the bonnet of the 3.2 this evening, I think it must be screen wash? It's clear, has no tint of anti-freeze.

Odd place for screenwash leak though?  :-\

Are both pumps securely pushed into tank ?  are any of the pipes showing water traces as they can leak at those silly push /swivel joints

Should be easy to tell, as I assume you use a reasonable strength screenwash this time of year for those cold mornings ;)

Given the location, if its antifreeze (very distinctive taste, but don't swallow it!) then it'll be the plastic part of rad is split. If its screenwash, then level sensor in side of bottle.

Get to know your car ::)

Drainage from the passenger scuttle... drains straight onto the top of the chassis leg, and being gravity powered, it will flow downhill to a point where if falls off ;)

On TBE, it normally drops before getting there, throw a hole not far from drain exit.

On the SUPERIOR MFL, obviously it drains more sensibly into wheelarch.

It's never drained at this point before, add in the fact it was parked underground as well.

Think it's screen wash, will double check the pipework at the weekend.

If its screenwash, go straight for level sensor. Doable without, but might be worth whipping bumper off :y

I had one here a few weeks ago, owner didn't believe in screenwash, just neat water, split the bottle on the upper edge.  But you aren't that daft.

If you do whip bumper off, grease the screws before putting them back in :y
